Hill News Brief  10/08

Large framed pictures of Sacred Heart Grammar School & Saint Peter's Grammar School graduating classes from 1900 till closing are now hanging on the walls in the old Sacred Heart School, (now Saint Martin De Porres Academy) 208 Columbus Avenue.
Sacred Heart & Saint Peter's graduates are encouraged to visit and view the pictures. The school would like to get the names of the students in the pictures and any related information you could provide.
 You can stop in Monday thru Friday, 7:00AM to 5:30PM and visit the office to give them any helpful information you might have.
Saint Martin De Porres Academy can be reached by phone if you have any questions 203-772-2424.
Any contributions to support this very worthy school will also be appreciated.
 

Hill Section 3rd Annual Dinner

May 22, 2008 Recap

 This is my first chance to write some notes about our 3rd Annual Hill Reunion Dinner. It seems everyone had a truly great time, I have received many emails and phone calls saying how much people enjoyed themselves. Attendance 331, last year was 303, 2006 was 200, 05 luncheon 83, 04 our first had 31 attend This years dinner had a Fats, Foti, Faoud, Billy Bones and Billy Shoes, a Pepperman, Tarzan, Soup Bone and Pencil Box, Gandi, Spider and Gomba, the ladies had a Mickie, Chickie, Mac and Dolly, First timers included Charlie Larson, Joe Tonelli, Danny Gooley, Vinny DiLauro (Columbus Auto Body Fame), Art Glaser (who won the $560 50/50 prize) and Tony “Chucky” Izzo who came because we paid for his ticket. Past attendees and others we are looking to return Henry Gerard, Gene Zandri, Richie “Captain” Chandler, Marcel “Monk” Franco, Ed Boni, Earl Fowler, Bobby “Spider” Weber, Andy Gladsish, Pete D’Erricco . 

Thanks to our COMMITTEE Jack Haggerty, Bobby Lee, Jim Lee, Patty Beirne Giannotti, Mary Doyle Nelson, Lenny Maselli, Joe Morrell, Jimmy Flanagan, Jack Rafferty, Peggy Pelzer Riderelli, Peggy Rogan Frawly, Dolly Sulmone Pyne, Tommy Fahy, George Chambrelli, John Cascio, Steve Quinn, Mike Shea, Herb Lynch, Bobby Lillis, Tom Forlano, Bobby Borelli, Maureen Haggerty Colella and Nick DeMatties plus 2 new members Roberta Latanzi Riggs and Elaine DiCapua Simons

This was our 2nd Hill Reunion Dinner.  The first was in May 2006, at the Savin Rock Conference Center.  It was attended by 200 people. This one was attended by 330 people.
